Cydney/Changes

After a lot of thought, prayer and talking with Cydney, we have decided not to pursue L.A. with her acting career for now. She has a contract with her agent, Marla Dell in San Francisco for 2 years and we will stick to that! That being said with no trips to LA that means that she no longer "needed" to be homeschooled. We talked to Cydney about what she wanted to do and she was very excited to go back to school. When I went in to register her for 5th grade they told me they had a spot available NOW in a 4/5 combo class. So I took the registration packet home to be filled out and when we presented Cydney with the option of going back now she was more than excited to go back and be with her friends!! She started back on Monday and so far is loving it. I think she is a little crazy because it takes her as long to do her homework as it did to do a full school day before! But she is happy and that's what matters. So as is my tradition to get "back to school" pictures here are a couple from her first day back!

First Day of School 2011

It's that time of year again!! First day of school!! Lilly started FIRST GRADE today! I can't hardly believe my baby girl is in first grade! Lilly's teacher this year is Ms. Munoz, who just happened to be Cydney's kindergarten teacher! Lilly had a first great day of school, and can't wait to go back tomorrow! Cydney doesn't start back until the 6th of September. She will have more of a traditional schedule with the Charter school! Lot's of exciting things happening in the Crain house!

Here is a look back at last year's first day of school! I just love looking back and seeing how they have grown!

Lilly Graduates Kindergarten

It really feels as though I was just blogging about the school year starting! This year literally flew by! Today Lilly graduated Kindergarten! We are SO proud of the beautiful little girl Lilly is turning out to be. She is spunky, silly and sweet. She has come so far from being able to barely write her full name to full on reading and doing math! It really amazes me how much kids know now when they graduate kindergarten! I got a bit teary eyed during the promotion ceremony! They sang adorable songs and when each one got their diploma they said their names and what they wanted to be when they grew up. We heard the usual police officer, fireman, doctor, vet and then there were cute ones thrown in like a spy and aerospace engineer!? "I'm Lillian Crain and I want to be a florist when I grow up". Yup a florist! We shall see how long this dream lasts! :D Hope you enjoy the pictures and video of our BIG girl!

Aladdin Play

Last night was Cydney's school musical of Aladdin! As I mentioned earlier in the year, Cydney played the lead role of Jasmine. She did an exceptional job, and we are SO proud of her! She worked really hard and her hard work paid off! Her and Jacob- who played Aladdin were cast perfectly for each other and they were just too cute! I took a lot of pictures in my excitement which you can check out below as well as a couple YouTube video's of her solo's! Thank you to the 32 friends and family members that took time out of their busy schedules to come and support Cydney! I am quite sure this was the most well attended play the school has had!!

Shameless Brag

Cydney has been in Drama/Choir since First Grade. Every year the school chooses a spring musical for them to perform. The past two have been "Cinderella" and "The Jungle Book". This year the chosen musical is "Aladdin"! Cydney didn't tell us that she was trying out for a part until she had already done it! She was pretty confident in her audition but wasn't getting her hopes up since "main characters" normally go to the older kids and with her being in 3rd grade we just didn't think it likely! Well turns out that she must have WOW'D them because Cydney got the LEAD role of JASMINE!! We've known for a while that she really has a gift of acting/singing from her performances in the church Christmas plays, but this is a really cool step for her! We are so excited for her! I'm pretty sure this is going to be one of the most well attended plays this school has seen!

October 2010

 Things have been non stop for us this fall!! Last week I went with Lilly's class to the pumpkin patch! Lilly had so much fun on her first field trip! The girls got their report cards and Cydney had straight A's and Lilly had all "S's" and only one P :) We are very proud of the little young ladies they are becoming! Cydney also tested last Saturday for the "GATE" program. (Gifted and Talented Education), she seems to think it was easy, but we will find out her results in the next week or so! First Day of Kindergarten and 3rd Grade!!

Wasn't I just posting pictures of Cydney's first day of Kindergarten on Facebook? It sure feels like it!!

Today was Lilly's first day of Kindergarten and Cydney's first day of 3rd Grade!! Lilly was SUPER excited as was Cyd but they definetely show their emotions in different ways.. For Lilly that involved JUMPING out of bed and rushing around trying to get everything done all while jumping and squeeling. Cydney just smiles a lot. Haha

Lilly's teacher is Mrs.Compton which we are very excited about because we have become friends with her over the past couple years since Cyd was in first grade! She even went to see Eclipse w/ me. lol

Cydney is in a 3rd/4th grade combo class this year. I didn't get to meet her teacher today but this will be her first year having a male teacher, Mr. Anderson! I think the combo class will be interesting and Good for her! She is such a smart girl and we hope she will learn a lot!

First Day of School!!

Its that time of Year again! Back to school!!

This year Lilly started Pre-Kindergarten! This is her first school experience... She has been having alot of fun with mommy at home but it was time to get some social experience in a classroom and make some friends and learn lots of fun stuff! She did SOO good on her first day! She didn't even hesitate! She ran right off to put her backpack in her cubby and said "Bye Mommy!" it made me a little sad.... but proud that we are raising such an awesome kid! She goes 2/days/week from 9-2 and seems to be loving it!











Cydney started 2nd grade! Cydney is starting the year out with a semi-permanent substitute teacher, Mrs Graham because her regular teacher is out with an illness. :( From what I understand we don't know if her teacher will be returning after Christmas break or not. However Cydney seems to really like the substitute as do I, So that's good! She is in choir again this year and their big play they will be working on is The Jungle Book!! She is loving school as usual!

Whew.... Where did summer go!?

Oh My! Summer seems to have flown by! I really had planned on updating my blog and keeping up on it this summer... BUT obviously that didn't happen. I always think that maybe THIS summer isn't going to be as busy as the previous.... but each summer proves me wrong!!

We had a good summer! We had alot going on and are glad for fall to come. Not that it will slow us down any but at least it will be cooler!

Cydney started 2nd grade, turned 7 and has lost 6 teeth now!! She has grown up sooo much this past summer. She has recently gotten very interested in her own "fashion" sense and "style" as she calls it. She was very excited to go shopping with her birthday shopping for such things as "skinny jeans" and "boots" etc... she now likes to wear her Converse tennis shoes with all her dresses.... I'm pretty sure that this new "style" of hers has been inspired from her favorite "Disney" channel star "Selena Gomez".... haha. Its cute and I can't believe how mature she is becoming! Where did my baby go!?

Miss Lilly started pre-kindergarten this year!! She is going 2 days/week to a local pre-k program at a church in town here. She goes from 9-2 and just absolutely LOVES it!! She did so awesome her first day! She ran right in, put her backpack in her cubby, started playing and said "Bye Mommy!" NO separation anxiety AT all! She is making friends and is such a smart girl! We are so proud of her and how great she is doing!

Bella is now 9 months old and is now crawling, standing and cruising ALL OVER the place! Oh my this girl can get into things!! She had her 9 month well check last week and she is 17.9lbs and 28.5"tall. :D My big girl! Cydney was that big at 1 year old! She now has 4 teeth, 2 top and 2 bottom and is just turning into such a neat little girl. Every day I think to myself that I am so blessed to have her. She just lights up my life! She is SOOO happy and silly! She is definitely our "Strong willed" child.... and pushes the limit's already at 9 months old... so that is becoming a challenge for us already, But her giggle seriously makes it all worth it!

I am still enjoying my new side business making bows!! I have been doing a ton of custom orders! I'm loving it! I just started a blog to show everyone my current projects etc. Hopefully I will be better at maintaining BOTH blogs now! http://sweetpeaswank.blogspot.com/ Check it out!!

I will be having my tonsils out September 15th finally. I have cryptic tonsils and have had ALOT of problems with them since I was a little girl... So the time has come to finally get them out! Please keep me and the family in your prayers as I recover. Apparently the recovery for an adult is actually a pretty bad experience vs. as a child! They expect me to be down for a good 2 weeks! Hopefully I will heal quickly and have no hemorrhaging! Thanks in advance for your prayers!!

Humbleness

Sweet Pea was honored for "Student of the Month" this month at school! Their theme this month was "Humbleness"! We went down to school this morning for her assembly and she was very excited! We're so proud of how she is doing in school! She loves it! I just pray that attitude continues! Here are a couple pics!
